THIS is the list that I have been dying to post! It is a list of the most needed items at Hannah's Hope right now. Many of these items are not readily available (or are extremely expensive) in Ethiopia, which is why the orphanage relies on adoptive families and visiting teams to bring in these supplies. Here is a current wish list directly from Almaz (the super woman that makes Hannah's Hope Ethiopia what it is):
1. Organic Flaxseed (ungrounded or ground).
2. Infant multivitamin drops
3. I do not need older children multivitamins ( I have a lot of it.)
4. Azithromycin, oral anabatic
5. Amoxicillins
6. Older children’s medicine, all kinds
7. Whooping cough medicine
9. Medicine grinder
10. Soy based formula are most needed as far as formula goes.
11. Diapers and wipes, diapers are more needed, of all sizes.
12. Any fun decorations to go over the cribs or over the ceilings.
13. Older children shampoos for dry scalp and hair
14. Older children body lotions.
16. Need all oral anabatic, amoxicillin in particular are needed the most, the 100 mg would be great.
21. Laptop
22. Small size needles and syringes (for babies and not the big syringe, we can get the big ones easily here).
23. Please I do NOT need bottles, or tooth brushes.
24. Stomach parasite medicine, really any kinds, needs much of it to treat all of the older children who come to us.
I will also be bringing snack packs and hacky sacks for the street children and for the children of all 3 orphanages that we will be visiting.
I also welcome ANY items for the "special mothers" at Hannah's Hope!
As you can see . . . the orphanage is in need of MANY supplies right now. If any of you are interested in sending ANY of the above items along with our team, I would be happy to add them to our containers!
Our team will be heading out February 5th and I will be collecting items until Wednesday, February 3rd.
Please pass this on to anyone else that might want to contribute tangible items that will go directly to the orphans and their caretakers of Ethiopia!
If you are interested in contributing or if you have any questions, please leave your name and email address in the comments section and I will be sure to contact you!
Let's show these children and their amazing caretakers how loved they are! I will post a photo of donations before we head out. Let's fill those bins to the brim! Thank you for reaching out from where you are at!

Are you planning to carry all these items to Ethopia with you? Or maybe they will be shipped ahead? I want to donate diapers and wipes, but they seem like such a bulky item to carry with you. Let me know how that would work. Scott and I would love to support your efforts.
ReplyDeleteWe will pack over as much as we can! I would love to have TOO MANY donations, but that is not a concern at this time. ;) In any event, I will make sure that ALL donations make their way to the orphans and caretakers of Ethiopia.
ReplyDeleteI actually have a box of needles from when my daughter needed shots that I have been wondering what to do with! yay!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Would you like to mail them or meet up?
ReplyDeletethanks so much for this list - I am going to see what I can get for you to take! My family and I are in the process of adopting from agci from ethiopia - and I have been looking for a good way to get things to hannah's hope - you are my answer to prayer! what kind of things were you thinking of for the "special mommy's"? I so would love to travel with embrace missions, but by the time we decided we could do it - the trips to ethiopia were closed. Praying for you as you prepare for your life changing trip! ReplyDeleteHI! I just came across your blog from Kristi Johnson's. I'm so excited right now and have so much I'd love to share with you! My heart too is feeling so burdened by Ethiopia and this just seems such an answer to prayer to help. I live not too far from you ..out in Enumclaw! Please contact me so we can chat about ways I can help (and get my friends and family to help). My e-mail is rockshan@skynetbb.com Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi, I found your blog from Kristi as well. Please contact me so I can help. lindsayhoang@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteKudos to you and your heart!!! I was directed here from your sisters FB status. (I haven't seen her in 20 yrs) It doesn't make sense to me to pay to ship things to you, and then have you pay and have things shipped to Ethiopia. Are you set up for cash donations? Is there a need for administration costs, or should I make other arrangements for a donation? Keep up the good work!!!!

Heard about your trip through Heather Holt on facebook. She and I went to High School togehter. Our journey is very similar, although my work is in Uganda. Hold on tight! Once you enter the world of Africa there is no turning back!

HI...I am actually coordinating donations for HH and adoptive parents. Please email me at gcknight@verizon.net so that this can be coordinated so we don't double up on things and money can be spent on other thins. Alot of this stuff is taken care of already. Sheets are not needed. They are taken care of. Digital camera is also taken care of. We are collecting funds for the generator and other big ticket items.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Charisa
Hey Beth,
ReplyDeleteI realize my above post probably sounded really short! Sorry about that! Didn't mean for it to! I was in a hurry to go somewhere but knew if I didn't do it then, I'd forget! Anyways, we can coordinate this stuff together and get the most stuff possible to HH. Thanks for going there and thanks for blessing the kids and workers!
